true believers, black holes, and writers block.

I've had less time to blog lately, but usually I get an inspiration and and find a few minutes here and there.

Lately I haven't found much.

But I did think this quote was interesting:

"Four billion people say they believe in God, but few genuinely believe. If people believed in God, they would live every minute of their lives in support of that belief.... They say that they believe because pretending to believe is necessary to get the benefits of religion. They tell other people that they believe and they do believer-like things, like praying and reading holy books. But they don't do the things that a true believer would do, the things a true believer would have to do."

From "God's Debris" by Scott Adams (yes the Dilbert creator).

On a different note; if there existed a religion that worshiped black holes, we could easily find some songs of adoration to them:

"You are the center of my life... time stops when I'm with you... you draw me with your power... I can't resist you... I can't see you, but I feel your presence...."

Just a thought. Maybe I should have stuck with writers block. :-)

Have you read "God's Debris"? It's a very, very interesting book ... not at all what you'd expect ...

I just did actually. Like he says in the prelude - a thought provoker, not a statement of personal belief. I think he had some great thought provoking stuff inside.
